A "duh" moment for me, I should have explained more fully how to access this book. Chalk it up to it being time to leave for church when I posted. Once you are logged on to the Heritage Quest site, you should see a screen with search engines for Census, Books, Persi, and Revolutionary War records. You'll find the Marshall Co. history by clicking on the Search Books link. This will take you to another Search screen, listing people, places, publications. I clicked on "Places." Another Search screen appeared with "Place Names," Person Names," and "Keywords." There are areas here to type in something that will bring up your search of choice. In "Place Names," I typed in "Marshall County Kansas," clicked on the "Search" button, and this book appears as the first book on the list. If you click on "View Image," the title page appears. At the top is a link for Table of contents. Click on this link and you'll get to the table of contents. Another link takes you to the Table of Contents, from there click on the "Biographical Index" link and that index should appear. Find your ancestor in the list, note the page number his biography is listed on. There's an place at the bottom (or top) where you can continue on to the next page if necessary by clicking on the right arrow. When you've found the right page, go back to the top of the page and you'll see a little box that says "VIewing page ____" Jump to" followed by a box. Type in the page number, hit your "enter" key, and it should take you to the right page. Happy hunting!
