Any info about John Virgil or Mildred Pearl (Jones) STEVENS a little north of Axtell. Descendents were: Richard James, Madge, Ray, Harold John (my father born on this family farm) and Kenneth. I think this farm was owned by William JONES of Pawnee Co., NE. Often the males were known by their middle names. Is there anything about them at the Blue Rapids Library? Thanks much! --- Sincerely DeAnne --- Researching Surnames: Driscoll, Jones, Lynch, Moore, Stevens
Hi Lori, I caught your post to Kelvin. I was wondering if you could tell me if there are any records or mention of a Gilderoy or Gildia Alderman at the Blue Rapids library. I have searched high and low to determine where he ended up or where he died at. I have a photo of him, taken with his family at a photography studio in Frankfort, Marshall county, circa 1890-1900. If you find anyone with the Alderman surname, I would be very interested to learn. If you do, I might have to take a genealogy trip this next year to Marshall county. Hi Lori, Thank you for taking the trouble to respond. Let me tell you about the Orchards and Tinklins. A family of 3 Tinklin children married 3 Orchard children , and 2 of these couples ie 2 Tinklins and 2 Orchards came to Kansas. They came in the 1870s. William BINDING ... parents Robert & Sarah (nee Tinklin), brother Thomas Charles BINDING. William born 1865 in Kenn, Somerset, England. In the census ( 1900 or 1901) I am told he was living in Marshall County with 3 business partners. He was listed as a builder.A Nina Binding was born in Marshall County in 1894, and I wondered if it was Williams child. Any help you can give me , I will be eternally grateful. ( It has taken 9 months to get a trace of him in USA). Regards, Kelvin Binding PS.. William is my great grandfathers brother ----- Original Message ----- From: Tom & Lori Parker <tlparker@flinthills.com> To: <KSMARSHA-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, November 12, 2001 3:30 AM Subject: Re: William BINDING > Kelvin, > My name is Lori Parker and I volunteer at the Blue Rapids library on > every other Wednesday evening. You might try writing a letter to the Public Library in Frankfort, enclosing a letter to the Sexton of Frankfort Cemetery, and ask the lady (June Warren) to see that he/she gets your letter. There are two cemeteries - City and Catholic.
