Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Jm.2ADE/8.1 Message Board Post: The Livingstons you are looking for are all buried in the Rosehill Cemetery in Axtell, Kansas. They are no relation to me, but I found them when I was lookiing for my great-grandfather, who is in the same cemetery. The city hall office in axtell has a pretty complete book on Rosehill, and they are very helpful in giving out info over the phone. If I remember correctly, John was buried there with both of his wives, Elizabeth and Henrietta, the daughter Rowena and a son named Frank. Also there was an older woman I assumed to be his mother buried in the same plot, by the name of Susanna. At one time I had all of these dates written down, but I do not know right offhand where they are, as it turned out they weren't related to me. I live in Topeka, where the State Historical Society is, and there are a large number of old newspapers here. Find out dates, and I will gladly look up obits for you. I also recall that John was listed in the History of Marshall County Book pri! nted in the 1880s, and I have run across him in various papers. He was fairly prominent in the Axtell Area. The graves were very nice and are well preserved.Write me at j.j.livingston@juno.com if you want more information.
Try one of these, she was anticipating problems with her @home.com email address in December, but I haven't heard from her. If it's listed as @home.com, try the same beginning with @attbi.com instead. Also, she has an alternate email address which is celtfinder@hotmail.com This one still worked on January 19th when she posted to the GenConnect Board for Marshall Co. I'm hoping that someone will be able to help me with a problem. I have a brother who was buried at the Morrison Cemetery just outside of Vliets, Ks about 40 years ago. Unfortunately, there wasn't a stone placed at the time of his death and my parents aren't in agreement about the exact location of his grave. I didn't think it would be a problem so I called the caretaker who gave me the name of the person with the cemetery records. I went to her but found out that the cemetery is so small and so old that they only have the names of who owns the plots but NOT everyone who is buried in the plots. Just my luck, none of my family is recorded in the plots that my granddad owned. There is also some conflict in family memories about how many people are buried in our family plot causing some concern that my brother (being an infant) may have been buried "on top" of another relative. I've found the mortitians records but they only indicate the cemetery but not the plot. Anybody, with any ideas? Thanks for any suggestions that anyone might have. Laura Pinnick
Crystal, Thank you for the information on the 1860 Census re the Gray family. I really appreciate your help. Thank you Frank
I have page 57 of the 1860 Fed Cen for Marysville, Marshall County KS and it has the James GRAY family listed at the bottom of the page. My Question Does anyone have access to the next page (58). This family has more children that are not on page 57 are they on page 58? I would appreciate any assistance anyone can offer thank you in advance Frank in Spokane WA

I went and looked the next page starts with a Stagg so there are no other children listed for the James Gray. Just Margaret, Mary, James, John. The other kids probably came along after the census either that or they took in some relatives ... You could write to the Sexton of the cemetery asking for copy of papers filled out at the time of death. Also, the Marshall Co Historical Society may have a copy of the obit that might state the parents. If they don't have - the Ks St Historical Society will send copies of obits. I don't know what the cost is now. You could find their site and it might tell. ----- Original Message ----- From: JLKraft <jlkraft@access-one.com> To: <KSMARSHA-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, January 30, 2002 5:28 AM Subject: Re: Surname Gray early Homestead > One of my ancestors is a Galen Charley Gray b. 1885 in Marion, Kansas.
