The LaCygne Weekly Journal Linn County Friday March 24, 1899 Ellen E. Seaton. Saturday evening the spirit of Mrs. Ellen E. SEATON joined the great majority on the other shore. While the deceased had been ill for a long time and it seemed as though her death could be expected, yet the sorrow it brought to our people was of the deepest. Ellen E. Seaton was born April 19, 1830, in Brenkenridge county, Kentucky. She was married to Franklyn Randolph DALTON, May 28, 1848, who died April 29, 1859. In 1869 she came to LaCygne where she lived two years and removed to Sedgwick City where she resided for four years, after which she returned to LaCygne and on May 28, 1877, she married Booker Seaton who survives her. Mrs. Seaton was a dear lady to all her acquaintances. She was possessed of a kind, generous and noble disposition always doing good unto others. During her long illness she was a patient and cheerful sufferer and when the final came she was ready and willing to go. To the husband who is left alone our people extend sympathy, fully realizing that he has parted with God's greatest gift to man--a good wife. The funeral services were held at the Seaton home on Tuesday at 10 o'clock a.m. by Rev. A.D. WOOD and the remains were laid to rest in the Oak Lawn cemetery.
