    3. The LaCygne Weekly Journal Linn County Friday February 25, 1898 Willow Ridge. Wood-chopping is in order. Oscar SMITH is working for Mrs. BLACK. Wm. LOT will work for W.M. FLEHARTY this season. Two of Albert ELKINGTON's little ones are sick this week. There is some talk of a humane society being organized here for the protection of horses. On Friday of last week, Mrs. Dan MITCHELL accidentally fell from the doorstep, breaking one or more of her ribs. Mrs. J.A. WEISNER, being fifty-six years old last Sunday, a few of her friends gathered in to spend the day. While the crowd was not a large one it was a happy one. All went anticipating a good time and none were disappointed for the house was aglow with merriment and when the dinner hour came the table was groaning under its burden of good things and then the remainder of the day was passed in social conversation and music. When the guests departed they left hoping Mrs. WEISNER might see many more as happy birthdays.
