The La Cygne Weekly Journal Saturday August 5, 1882 Sunday afternoon Dallas ALEXANDER was out riding in a buggy behind his black team when the hind feet of one of the horses went through the floor of the bridge north of Ben SHINKLE's. It took about an hour to get the horse free and it is still laid up on account of injuries received by the accident.
