    2. The LaCygne Weekly Journal Linn County Friday November 25, 1898 Mound City. John MAXWELL shipped a carload of fine horses to Boston Tuesday. J.H. PARKER came over from Adrian, Mo., last week to get a load of flour. Pete HIGGINS was in Saint Louis the first of the week with a car of mules. Joseph COPELAND, of Trading Post was in Mound City Thursday on business. Mrs.M.H. GIBBS who has been here attending her father's funeral returned to her home in Emporia Tuesday. Prof. CLINESMITH, Misses Mary COLLINS, Sadie ROKES and Josie JONES were down from Parker Saturday attending teacher's meeting. Miss Grace BURTON with assistance of a number of her friends celebrated here seventh birthday. Delicious refreshments were served. Mrs. James HAWKINS returned form Parker Saturday where she had been visiting her sister-in-law, Mrs. THOMPSON, who has been quite sick. Geo. LONG who was a member of the Fifth Missouri regiment, was in town Monday. His regiment has recently been mustered out. Chester FLEMING, son of R.C. FLEMING, accidentally fell off a rock sidewalk lat Saturday evening and broke his wrist. Dr. PAUL dressed the wound.
