GOULD and family, and while here made a call at the engine house and examined La Cygne's fire fighting facilities. He complimented the outfit very highly and said the new hose recently purchased by th ecity was of better quality and had better couplings than any hose used by the departments in Kansas City. Mr. BERRY also inspected ruins of of the Johnson residence and pronounced the work done by Chief McCARTY and his fire boys as first-class.
