The LaCygne Weekly Journal Linn County Friday December 24, 1897 Willow Ridge. Robert HUTON has almost completed his new house. Mrs. Harry MARKS has been suffering with a very sore hand. Luther SMITH has gone to Illinois with the intention of bringing back with him a wife. Mr. GRANT, the Willow Ridge school teacher, spent Sunday at his home near New Lancaster. Last Thursday night a little child of Mr. HELMS was taken very suddenly sick with cramp. Dr. VERDIER was called and the little one was soon out of danger. Elijah SMITH a short time ago met with quite an accident which might have proved fatal. While preparing to go hunting he let the gun fall discharging one barrel but luckily it only took the end of his finger and three shot entering his cap.
