    3. The La Cygne Weekly Journal Linn County Saturday October 13, 1883 An incipient cyclone started out for a spree Monday evening, October 1, at Samuel HAMILTON's, on North Sugar. After demolishing a number of valuable fruit trees, and tearing up the floor of a porch, it went into the timber and gave an exhibition of its force by breaking down strong trees a foot in diameter. It followed down the creek several miles, doing considerable damage to grain in the field. Sam GOODRICH had 125 shocks of corn scattered to the four winds, and a large quantity of hay destroyed. The storm was only of a few minutes duration.
