The LaCygne Weekly Journal Linn County Friday July 23, 1899 Mike DONOHUE, a well known Linn county coal miner and who was said to be one of the most experienced miners in the Rich Hill district met with instant death in the McCOOMBS mines, south of Rich Hill, last Saturday monring. This mine is operated by Abe BROWN and Dave HUGHES and Donohue had been engaged in driving. While loading a car in the new entry a portion of the roof fell and caught him. The man was horribly crushed. He leaves a wife and four small children.
