    3. The La Cygne Weekly Journal Linn County Saturday June 3, 1882 Mrs. N.C. LANE died suddenly on Friday night of last week at the home of her husband near Trading Post. She had an attack of neuraliga of the stomach on Thursday morning, and died from the effects of the disease as the time above stated. She had not been in good health for some time prior to the illness that caused her demise, but she was not supposed to be in a serious condition until receiving the fatal attack. The deceased leaves a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn her loss.

We never met a more honest man than Mr. Marshall to deal with, and he may be relied upon to do well in his new location because he will attend strictly to business. He leaves many friends here who regret his departure because he belongs to that class of agreeable and useful gentlemen who are a credit to any community in which they may reside. "Tom" will be missed from La Cygne.

SANDERS, an excellent and worthy young man engaged in journalism with a bright prospect for the future. Mr. Sanders has won a rare prize. The Journal extends to him and his bride it heartiest congratulations with the hope that their married life may be as in promises, one of continual joy and sunshine.

    3. The La Cygne Weekly Journal Linn County Saturday May 6, 1882 The marriage of Mr. Albert WILLIAMS and Miss Annie BUSHNELL took place at the Baptist church, this city, last Sunday, Rev. E.M. Cohron pronouncing the ceremony in the presence of a large number of witnesses. Mr. Williams is well known as a faithful, popular employe of the La Cygne House, and has received the congratulations and good wishes of a host of friends over the successful termination of his courtship. The happy couple were the recipients of a fine collection of wedding presents.

The La Cygne Weekly Journal Linn County Saturday April 29, 1882 The infant daughter of Mr. Robert CAMPBELL, of Scott township, who died on Friday, April 21, after an illness of about three weeks was buried beside its mother, formerly Miss Minnie JOHNSTON, of this city, in the cemetery adjoining La Cygne. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. J.A. Matten.

    3. The La Cygne Weekly Journal Saturday April 29, 1882 Mr. S.D. CADY has returned home from Eureka Springs, Ark., where he went for the benefit of his health. He looks better for his trip. Hon. D.B. LONG, State Fish Commissioner, has appointed Mr. B.F. BROADWELL, of La Cygne, as his deputy, and it is made the duty of the later named gentleman to see that the fish law is obeyed in this county. The selection of Mr. Broadwell is an excellent one and will meet the approval of all here who desire the enforcement of the statute relating to fish.
