Children's names are William 1852-1924; John bn 1855*1936, Allen 1857-?, Isaac 1859-1875, Jefferson 1861-1937, Ellen Riley Smith 1863-1934, Oliver 1864-1934, Mary Ann Riley Smith 1866-1935, and James 1869 or 1871-unknown. Seemed to gravitate to counties named Linn County. First shown in Linn County Iowa between 1849-1970; then in Linn County Missuori between 1880-unknown. Cannot find them after the 1880 census. Some family moved to southern Missouri pre 1900, so wonder if Barny & Elizabeth may have moved onto Linn County Kansas where they may have died. Any help in searching Linn County for Barny & Elizabeth would be gratefully appreciated. These are g-g-grandparents and family information about where they died has become a mystery. The La Cygne Weekly Journal Linn County Saturday March 24, 1883 The Journal regrests to learn of the sad death, Sunday morning, at Dodge City, of Mr. Cleland MARSHALL, son of Mrs. C.W. OLNEY, of La Cygne. Mr. Marshall was her visiting only a few weeks ago, enjoying good health, but after returning home was taken sick with small pox, from which he died. A strange thing about his death is that while in this city he expressed himself as having had a presentiment that he would not live long. Mr. Marshall was an excellent, companionable young man who had many friends in this vicinity.
