I read in the LINCOLN SENTINEL, March 24, 1904: "Norman Webber our trustee is making his rounds finding out how much of this worlds goods we have. Says he finds people who are kind of poor when they come down to business." I have these questions: 1- Does this mean that Norman Webber was a township trustee? 2- Does it mean that township trustees were, by virtue of that office, tax assessors? 3- What else might trustees have done besides assessing property for tax purposes? 4- Are there still township trustee records from this period in Lincoln County? If so, are they at the county courthouse? 5- This item comes under the heading of "West End." Is that the name of a township? Thanks, Wilda Morris
