CASNER, 65, Marion, p.4 State of enlistment: Iowa Company -- Regiment -- Arm of Service: B -- 26 -- Infantry [Information supplied by great granddaughter, Ann Lamb (AnnL7777@aol.com): Nicholas Casner was born 11 Sept 1819 in Lebanon, Hunterdon County, NJ, son of Abraham Castner and Mary Ann McClean. He married Emma Amelia Kellogg on 26 Mar 1855 in Geneva, Kane Co., IL. He died at age 89 on 17 Feb 1908 in Kansas City, Mo (at the home of his son Fred Casner) and was buried in Eastside Cemetery, Hutchinson, Reno County, KS where he had lived since retiring from farming in Lincoln Co, KS.
