Hello Lincoln County Researchers I'm a little late with my surnames due to a new computer and all the set up and transfers that go with that. My Surnames in Lincoln County are: WOODY, CROWL and BOWLIN My great grandfather Henry Woody moved to Lincoln County sometime in the late 1890's from Georgia. I am thinking that he followed the trail to Kansas from some earlier Woody migrations. Josiah Askew Woody and his wife Rausey Melinda Bryan Woody came to Lincoln County in 1871. Anyway, back to my line, Henry WOODY married Edith CROWL and lived in or near Barnard. They had seven children, Wanda Wilma, Kathryn, Frank, Nellie Ellen (married Keith Fisher SAUNDERS) and my grandfather Alex Lenard WOODY. Alex WOODY born Feb. 15, 1908 in Barnard married Margaret Mary BOWLIN ( may have been married in Beloit, Mitchell County but not sure). Did anyone's family that lived near Barnard in the late 20's or early 30's go to Beloit to get married? My father Donald Mac WOODY was born in Barnard on Jan. 17, 1932 That's all I know for now other than the whole clan packed up and headed to Oregon in 1938/39. I am not sure why. Tracee, if you could look for a marriage record for Alex Woody and Margaret Bowlin I would appreciate it. Thanks, Mike Woody Albany, Oregon
