The Independent Sunday February 11, 1894 Deaths. Mrs. James O'KEEFE, an old resident of Stranger Township, died of pneumonia Monday. The funeral was at Hoge. The seven months old son of Mr. and Mrs. W.J. SCHMELZER, 413 Ottawa street, was buried Tuesday afternoon. Measles was the immediate cause of death. J. HUGHES, aged about sixty, died Tuesday and was buried from the cathedral Wednesday. Mr. HUGHES was one of the best posted men in the city on current topics. Patrick BURKE, aged 76, died at his home, 601 Cherokee street, Monday evening after a lingering illness. The interment was from the cathedral Tuesday afternoon.
