Surnames: Hatterschidt - Hatterscheidt - Pettit Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Fm.2ADE/247 Message Board Post: The first husband of one of my ancestors (Eliza Pettit, b 1835 in Ohio) was, according to the records I have, "John P. Hatterschidt"). They had a son, also named John P. Hatterschidt (b. 1855) I am trying to determine if this is the "John P. HatterschEit" who is mentioned in several Kansas histories as being active in Kansas politics in the late 1850s. He moved from Cincinnati tand settled in Leavenworth. Since he's only mentioned briefly in the histories I've found, there's nothing about his family. Any help would be appreciated Michael Carroll
