You could order out the microfilm AR 7466 ( Willis Pawny to J W Rowley) from the Kansas State Historical Society through your local public library. This is the Index to the Inmate Records of the Kansas State Penitentiary 1861-1952. If I remember correctly there only the names and aliases, but maybe more. John Lincoln Pearce and William Pearce were locked up in Leavenworth, not sure if it was the State or Federal for sure, but think it was the State. I am wondering if there is a way to find out what they did to get there and how long they were there. I do know by 1898 John was living in Christian County Missouri, but have been unable to find anything on William after the 1880 census. In 1870 census they were living in Appanoose County Iowa. John was born 1859/1860 and William was about two years older. > > > ==== KSLEAVEN Mailing List ==== > NOTICE: Posting of virus warnings, test messages, chain letters, political > announcements, current events, items for sale, personal messages, flames, > etc. (in other words - spam) is NOT ALLOWED and will be grounds for removal. > Consideration for exceptions, contact Kathleen Burnett [email protected] > > ============================== > To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 >
