All members were required to wear uniforms, obey the Rules and Articles of War and hold military formations. Eventually, the home would purchase necessary commodities from local merchants. 1936---Name changed to Wadsworth, in honor of Col. C W Wadsworth who was the general treasurer of the National Homes. It is now known as Eastern Kansas Health Care System (EKHCS) - Leavenworth Facility. It is consolidated with Topeka. The EKHCS consists of 2 "campuses", Leavenworth and Topeka.
