    1. [KSLEAVEN] Oscar Long in High Prairie Township, 1880
    2. Alison Bigbee
    3. Hi, I am researching my LONG family from Leavenworth County, KS....my 3x's ggrandmother was Margaret Dougan LONG who moved (as a widow with her children) from Fayette County, PA to Leavenworth County about 1865. I have located she and her children in the 1870 Stranger Township, Leavenworth County census. I have a family journal that states her death as March/April 1873--this was taken from an old family bible. I have just located Margaret's married daughter, Maria Agnes Long White and Margaret's son, Oscar LONG (age 30, unmarried) in the 1880 High Prairie Township, Leavenworth County, KS census. I am looking for any information on cemetaries/obituaries in Stranger or High Prairie Township (are these townships located next to one another?)....I have been unable to locate any information on Margaret Dougan Long's death or burial. I would also like to find out more information on Oscar Long--the 1870/1880 census are the only places I have located him. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for your time! Alison Bigbee

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Fm.2ADE/357.1 Message Board Post: I probably have more questions than answers, but have a little information on the Graysons and Coffields. Mattie Grayson is my grandmother. She died early in age due to complications of birth of a 3rd child. Her other 2 children (my Dad and Aunt) are still living but were too young to have too many recollections of their mother, but do remember their grandparents (Daniel & Hattie). Many of the Graysons are buried in Thayer Cemetery, KS. In addition, Hattie's Parents are also at this cemetery, Alfred Heywood (of Bertie County, NC) & Ester (Wagle) Coffield (of Cass County, IL). When Mattie married my grandfather, the Grayson's had moved to Searcy County AR. They returned to KS (except for Mattie). Shortly before her death, Mattie returned to KS. The best web page I have found of Daniel & Hattie is http://www.math.uiuc.edu/~dan/FamilyTree/dat43.html#6 (this author is not a decendent to my/our Graysons). I would like to see any info on our line of Graysons also.

    1. [KSLEAVEN] New to this list
    2. Daniel David Lewis Frommherz
    3. Great Morning to all of you: My grandfather Adolph Joseph Frommherz is the youngest of five children who arrived in the USA between 1892 and 1896 from Egg and Spatzenhof (names of) small villages located in the Grand Duchy of Baden, German Independent States. He first settled in the vicinity of Savannah, Missouri but left there eventually landing in Benton County, Oregon. His brother Andreas came to Washington State where he lived on his small farm until his death in 1935 and his two sisters Maria Anna who married Frederick Bauder and Josephina who marriage Henry Rothenburger. They both seem to have settled in Leavenworth, Leavenworth County, Kansas. I am wondering if there are any of the descendants of these two families Bauder and Rothenburger researching their ancestors on this list? I have a family tree that was prepared by my aunt and published in her "Roots book" dated May 30, 1983. I don't have a clue as to where any of them went however some of the surnames mentioned in the book are listed by surname below: Kaaz Furry Hermance Fulton Clugston Schaffer Chaplain Malotte Hummelgaard Turner Keane Hanson Zachariah Hensley Bauder Gausz Hustings Clark Pettyjohn Please contact me as I can help get your linneage on the Frommherz surname back to a birth in Baden Germany in 1683 with source notes. -- Daniel David Lewis Frommherz Come visit my web site www.McKenzieValleyMarket.com please write and tell me what you think of it. I am the List Administrator for: [email protected] The surnames connected to my paternal and maternal grandfathers are: Lounsbury; Penoyer; Guion; Lauber; Bachle; Baier; Schlageter; Gerspach; Matt and [email protected] The surnames connected to my paternal and maternal grandmothers are: Busse; Pribbernow; Allen; Bangs; Howe; Norton; Haskins or Hoskins; Caswell; Cole; Windthrope; Mitchell; Cooke; Birdsall; Goldthwaite; Scudder; Browne; Tuthill; Swayze; Dibble; Smith; Wood/Woods; Young; Lewis; Fair/Phayre Wise men who refuse to participate in the affairs of government are punished by being made subject to the rules of fools - Abraham Lincoln.

    1. [KSLEAVEN] From List Mom - A few items to help you.
    2. Kathleen Burnett
    3. Dear List Members, If you are interested in knowing about other mailing list out there, one of the very best inventories of genealogical mailing lists is John Fuller’s Genealogy Resources on the Internet located at http://www.rootsweb.com/~jfuller/gen_mail.html If you ever need to unsubscribe from this list or any rootsweb list all you need to do is visit Password Central located at http://passwordcentral.rootsweb.com/ Follow the instructions and you will received an e-mail of all lists you belong to and from it you can unsubscribe from the ones you want to. Always know that I will be more than happy to help you if you are having problems unsubscribing, you only need to ask. Please send this request to [email protected] not to the entire list. If you would like to visit the Archived messages of this list, go to http://archiver.rootsweb.com/ and type in the name of the list you would like to search and from there you can search by dates. If you are having problem and I do not answer you right away, know that I will. I like many of you work full time outside of my home. I am fortunate that I can check my e-mail any time I wish, but know that there are spaces of time I cannot. I always check my e-mail each and every evening and will respond to message that need me then and there. There are a few items I would like to suggest for the benefit of each of us. 1. When sending a posting to the list it would help if you would put the subject of your posting in the subject line. Doing this also might give you a better chance to attract the attention of someone who has the information you are looking for or the attention of someone who is searching for the information you are posting. Many members are on many many lists and when they see a subject line that reads "My Ancestors" they just delete it. 2. When posting a query regarding a surname it would help all of us if you would put your surname in CAPS. This way the members can easily pick out the surnames you are looking for. On the other hand when the entire message is in CAPS we feel that we are being yelled at. 3. Please remember to delete the tags and un-needed words when you re-send a message to the list with your answer. If you don't check this, your responses can become quite large and may cause problems with some of our member's servers. This member who might not be able to receive your message because of its size, just might be your long lost second cousin with all the answers you are looking for. 5. Remember to keep your Virus protection up to date and never open any attached file unless you are 100% sure what it is and even then you are taking a chance. 6. Now, the hardest thing is when one of our own, a fellow member becomes upset about a posting from one from one of us. It is so hard not to jump in and add our two cents. I want you to know how much I appreciate it when you just let these posting go by and delete them. Know that I am behind the scenes taking care of the problem. If you ever have a concern that I might have missed a message that needs addressed you are welcome to contact me during the day at [email protected] or in the evenings at [email protected] 7. If your list has the gateway open, meaning the messages posted on the board also hit he list, know that every once in a while a SPAM message that is caught by the Board filter slips through the gateway and hits the list before it can be stopped. JUST DELETE IT. By responding the the list regarding he offending message, you just continue it on, and there is not one thing I can do about it at that point. Please remember, so that this list is better for each of us, the posting of virus warnings, test messages, chain letters, political announcements, current events, items for sale, personal messages, flames, etc., in other words Spam is NOT ALLOWED and will be grounds for removal. Consideration for exceptions, contact me at [email protected] I want to thank each of you for your continued support of me and your willingness to help make this list the success it is. It is your list and is here for your benefit. If you have suggestions or comments you would like in future reports, you only need to send them to me. Kathleen Burnett List Mom [email protected]

    2. BOB DUBEL
    3. I have so far been unable to find death or burial information for Margaret (Pritchett) Bounds, wife of Addison J. Bounds. She was born 1826 and died in Leavenworth, KS circa 1858. A. J. Bounds is listed in the voting register and state census of 1859 in Leavenworth but I do not know whether Margaret was still alive at that time. The state census does not list family members. Can someone direct me to a list of deaths or burials for about 1858? I do not know their religion in order to search church records. Thank you. Zelda Dubel. [email protected]
