On the way out I stopped and looked at the RHOADES and WILLIAMS graves. If you visit this link http://cemetery.cottonhills.com/ scroll down and click on Gardner Cemetery Then on the next page in the upper right corner click on the "index" link then the "R" link Scroll down the page and look at the info on each individual and click on the PHOTO or numbered links to see the headstones. Then do the same for "W-Z" link, and then scroll down for Lillian May Williams and just above her James Peter Williams. Note that they share the same headstone as Henry and Ruth, just the EAST side. Henry and Ruth are on the WEST side. When you look at the second photo for Lillian or James, you can see three headstones flat on the ground, on top of and between James and Lillian. These are the two daughters and one of the grandsons. Note also that Lillian May died in 1941 so that should help you get the correct May Williams obituary. The stone closest to the headstone is for Fern WILLIAM ROUSH, Dec 29, 1900 to Mar 20, 1987 The middle stone is for the Faye's son, James Franklin AKRIGHT, Feb 9, 1930 to Oct 1, 1992. From the SSDI, James died in Baltimore, MD. His is SSN is 496-32-6669. There is no obituary listed for him in the library index. The next stone out is for Faye WILLIAMS AKRIGHT, April 26, 1898 to Apr 27, 1993. It appears from the on line county marriage index that her husband was George F AKRIGHT and they were married in 1926. (search here http://www.jococourts.org/ ) There is one Geroge F Akright in the SSDI, SSN 491-32-3181, born 20 Jan 1900 and died 20 Nov 1990. the Last Residence is not specified. He also is not listed in the library obituary index. Wonder where he died? You can find some additional information on George Akright in this WorldConnect database, just click on the link and it should take you to his information. The link needs to be one line, not two.... http://worldconnect.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=starfire601&id=I04545 Based on the placement of these three stones, I assume that all three individuals were cremated and the ashes are under the individual's stone. Their obituaries should indicate if they were cremated. For the RHOADES folks, the tenth, non surviving child referred to in Henry's and Ruth's obituaries is Arthur M., Jan 5 1877 to Jan 27, 1877. Have fun with all this Dave Goldy Overland Park, KS Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
