He was born Nicolaus Trusch and married my grandmother Karolina (she went by Lena). They had three children John (born in Essen, Germany), Mary (born in Essen, Germany) and Kurt (born in Michigan). Kurt is my father. I live in San Diego, California. Anything you may have on the family in the area would be wonderful. My husband and I are going to be in Germany for Oktoberfest mid-September so I hope to get over to Alsace if time permits.
