The Johnson County Central Resource library volunteers usually will do looks up if requested. However the library's newspaper microfilm collection only goes back to 1879. Do you have an LDH Family History Center in your area? They also can get the newspaper microfilms form KSHS. They do charge a small film rental fee. For George's obituary, or more likely a death notice, try the the Leavenworth, KS Public Library. They have the Leavenworth County newspaper microfilms. They have a web page. They also charge a research fee. the last time I looked a few years ago it was $25. per hour in advance.
