I am confused as to whether the mother of his children was Elizabeth Geiger or Maria K (unk) possibly Wentzel or Sentzel. Elizabeth died about the time of the birth of their last child. Nicholas ( a minister ) died 1892 in Monticello and is buried with Maria K. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. If you have a chance to look for an obit I would really appreciate it. Thanks for the link to the naturalization records. I have written the archives and got a copy. It sadly only had the name and age of Peter. The age was off a few year and no other info. Hard to tell if it is him or not. Thanks for the response! It is much easier to look for obituaries with a death date in hand. The county library has an obituary index for that time period, but is a work in progress. If you post the death date. i will take a lool to see if one was published. If you look on this link you will see a reference to naturalization records for a Peter Johnson. http://joco-ks.genweb.us/county-records/naturalization/index/i-j.html Visit this link to the Johnson County Archives to see how to get copies of the records. http://rta.jocogov.org/archive-services The cost is usually a nominal cost for coping, on a per page basis. Peter's might have where he was born in Sweden. He died in Johnson County after the 1910 but before the 1920 Census. They were living in Shawnee. Deaths records July 1, 1911 are filed with the Kansas Office Vital Statistics. Between 1885 and 1911 records were filed in the City Clerk's office. The Johnson County Genealogical Society and Library, www.johnsoncountykansasgenealogy.org/ has a every name index of each cemetery within the county. You'll have to contact the St. Joseph Cathlic Church, Shawnee, 913-631-5983, www.parishesonline.com/scripts/ about birth records. I didn't find them in the Kansas Historical Society and they were probably sent to the applicable Arch Dieocese. Successful Searching!
