I would love to have the obit for Mary Koehn. She has been a mystery for a very long time. I I did find one of the Barrs mentioned in the other obits in Wichita Kansas and talked to him last Thrusday. We will be exchanging family info. As they were new messages(as opposed to responses to my first message) I did not get the email notice. Anyway, after reading Robert Barr's notices, I saw that KOEHN was mispelled in my notes (I think it was spelled KEOHN) in your first message. With the corrected spelling, I was able to find Mary Koehn's obituary today. She died January 14, 1976 here in Johnson County, KS. She is also buried in a cemetery in the county. I also picked up Mabel Irene LaBeth's obituary. Mable left no surviving children; just BARR nephews, a sister in law Dorothy Barr Watts, a Ramsey nephew and two niceses. I will post transcriptions later. She is buried in the same cemetery as Mary Koehn. I may also have a lead on Mable Irene's husband, but don't know for sure. One way to look up folks is to use www.switchboard.com, basicly an electronic white pages. Or request look ups in the location of interest in the city directories and phone books. Note that some of the the folks may be dead now and you may find them in the Social Security Death Index. I'm trying break down a huge brickwall and need some help. Would someone please locate a copy of the following two (2) uncertified death records for me? I'm willing to pay copying and parking expenses. Here's the information: Mary Laura (or Laura Mary) BUCKLEY *nee* BURK~E, b. September 5, 1852, Iowa; d. July 20, 1882, Overland, Kansas. William Francis (Frank) or Frank BURK~E, b. July 17, 1855, Iowa; d. June 9, 1947, Lenexa, KS There parents are: Michael BURKE & Catharine MARTIN, both born Ireland. Actually, I don't believe there would be an uncertified copy of death record for Mary Laura Buckley *nee* Burke because she died in 1882, but there should be some kind of death record. Right? I would be very satisfied with a newspaper obit for her instead. Please feel free to contact me by direct e-mail at cveio@sbcglobal.net Thank you so much. I really appreciate the help. They will respond in a few days. http://www.mcpl.lib.mo.us/branch/ge/researchpolicy.htm Mid Continent has a scrap book of all obituaries published in the KC TIMES and STAR newspapers from 1979 to current dates. As the STAR and TIMES were/are the major metro area newspapers that is most likely where Rev. Tinsley's obituary was published. All they need for a look up is the persons name and SSDI death information, which you have. There may have also been an obituary in one or more of the local county newspapers.
