There was a Shady Nook school in Washington Twp., but I don't know if it had any relationship to a cemetery of the same name. "Shady Nook/Shadynook" does not show up as a place name in Jewell Co. of any sort, even historical, on the GNIS site. Did he live near the Nebraska line? Might help to check there if he did.
