    3. The McLouth Times Jefferson County Friday September 16, 1949 William Perry Moore. William Perry MOORE, son of J.D. and Susan Moore, was born in Holmes County, Ohio, May 8, 1855. He passed away Sept. 8, 1949, at the age of 94 years and 4 months. At the age of three, he moved with his parents to Leavenworth County, Kas. where he spent the rest of his life. He was married to Josephine Lillis STEWART Nov. 18, 1876 and to this union were born 10 children, 6 of them preceding him in death. Mrs. Moore preceded him Oct. 9, 1942. Surviving him are one daughter, Mrs. Harry TROWER of Manhattan, Kans., and three sons, Lawrence Moore, of Seneca, Kans., Frank Moore, McLouth, Kans., and Edward Moore of Leavenworth, Kans. He had 26 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. One sister, Mrs. Sarah CHRISTY of Kansas City, Kans. He was one of the oldest pioneers of Leavenworth County and told his children how he used to plow with oxen and teamed to the prison. For many years he was road overseer. He was always interesting in the welfare of his friends and neighbors. He was a membr of the Baptist church in McLouth, Kansas. The funeral was held Sunday at the Baptist church with Rev. Jones of Easton officiating. Miss Virginia Seymore of Jarbolo sang, accompanied by Mrs. Nellie Scott. Burial was in Eagle Cemetery. Bradford's Funeral Home was in charge.
