The Valley Falls New Era Thursday May 12, 1910 Samuel SHAFFER says there will be a good crop of apples this year and lots of plums, grapes, etc., not many cherries but peaches will be plentiful. He says a cloud hung over Kansas and Missouri during the recent unpleasantness which kept the fruit here from freezing although frost killed it farther south where the sky was clear. We feel greatly encouraged by this report which we consider reliable. Several of those who recently were blue and predicted no crops or fruit have increased their rations to three meals a day.
