The McLouth Times Friday March 21, 1950 Champions Celebrate 50th Anniversary. Due to the critical illness of Mrs. Champion, the 50th wedding anniversary celebration, which was held on Sunday, February 12, at the Wellman M.E. church has not been written for publication heretofore. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Champion celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary February 12. In spite of the bad day the guests began to arrive at one o'clock and were greeted by Mr. and Mrs. Champion's nieces, Margaret and Marie WELLMAN, who were in charge of the gold trimmed guest book. The dining table was laid with a lace cloth over yellow, with a boquet of yellow jonquils and a three tiered white wedding cake topped with a miniature bride and groom. Cake and coffee were served to the guests. Mr. and Mrs. Champion received over 200 letters and congratulations. They received congratulations frm Gov. Frank Carlson and Rep. Albert M. Cole. With deepest gratitude Mr. and Mrs. Champion wish to express their thanks each and every one of the church and community for the kindness and help to make their anniversary a wonderful day. They wish to thank everyone for the lovely gifts and beautiful flowers they received for their anniversary.
