For comparison-- Oskaloosa High School, 1941: 15 male, 17 female Valley Falls High School, 1940: 18 male, 11 female Valley Falls High School, 1942: 10 male, 12 female. The class numbers of male/vemale varied considerable. The war did have impact, but probably the specific cause of the difference in Valley Falls.
