The Valley Falls Vindactor Jefferson County Wednesday December 18, 1940 Mrs. Susan Abigail PRICE, 78, passed away suddenly at her home near Valley Falls, Kansas, on December 1, 1940. She was born near Valley Falls, Kansas, on October 6, 1862. She grew to womanhood in Jefferson County and was united in marriage to Leroy H. Price on October 30, 1883. To this union were born eight children. Twin daughters, and a son, Homer, died in infancy. Surviving Mrs. Price are her aged husband, Leroy H. Price; five sons, Walter and Ralph of Oak Mills, Kansas; Elmer of Yuma, Arizona; Joe of Manhattan, Kansas; and Ross of Sabetha, Kansas. Seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Elisha MILLER, of Valley Falls, Kansas; two brothers, Jack HOGAN of Charlo, Montana, and Elmer Hogan, of Valley Falls also survive. Mrs. Price was a member of the Methodist church and claimed to be a Christian and always wanted prayer in her home. She was a loving companion and mother, and was held in high esteem by all of her neighbors and friends. Funeral services were conducted from the Coal Creek Evangelical Chruch Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 4., with burial in the Nortonville cemetery.
