    3. The Valley Falls New Era Thursday August 19, 1909 Miss Mabel YOUNG, of Holton has charge of Charles Candy Kitchen. Her mother, Mrs. A. YOUNG has rented the Summerville residence on Maple street and will move in as soon as Mrs. SUMMERVILLE vacates. Mrs. Summerville expects to leave soon for her claim in eastern Colorado. Wm. DAVIS returned Monday from his trip of several months to the Pacific Coast and says that he found no country so much better than this that he wanted to stay there and also that while some people seemed to think that land was high in price around here, it was reasonable when considered with that he had seen. He said that Denver was very dull and that he was told a man had to buy a job if he was out of work--so many were unemployed. Miss Lu THOMPSON, of Ft. Riley, is here this week visiting her uncle, Johnny ROBERTS.
