    3. The Valley Falls New Era Jefferson County Thursday September 8, 1910 Death of Mrs. Geo. Pettitt. After a lingering illness, Mrs. Harriet S. PETTITT, widow of Geo. Pettitt, died Sunday evening, Sept. 4, 1910, at the home of her son, Hiram T. Pettitt, in east Ozawkie township, aged 76 years. For nineteen years she had been a widow, and was well known in this part of the county, the family being among the oldest settlers. The funeral was held from the Ozawkie home Tuesday and the burial in Rose Hill cemetery, at Valley Falls, by the side of her long lost husband. She is survived by her two sons, Hiram T. and J.W. Pettitt of this county, and one daughter, Mrs. Jennie MILLER of Topeka.
