The Meriden Message Jefferson County Friday November 27, 1931 Steve Talcott Is Dead. Steve TALCOTT, 70, long-time resident of Winchester died at his home Thursday night of last week, Nov. 12, and funeral services were held at the Methodist church, Winchester, on Saturday, with the Rev. C.L. Ruhlen in charge. Burial was in Wise cemetery. Mr. Talcott was born in Winchester in early days, and his lifelong residence there made him many friends over Jefferson county. His health failed last spring and he gave up active management of the restaurant which he has operated in Winchester for years. At one time Steve Talcott was a famous jockey and rode winners on many circuits. He has been mayor of Winchester and lately was police judge of the city. He is survived by his wife, a sister, Mrs. May Oliphant, of Denver, Colo., and a stepson, Frank PRIEST of Kansas.
