The Meriden Message Jefferson County Friday January 9, 1931 Margaret Caloline BECKER was born Jan. 30, 1864, near Marietta, Ohio, and departed this life, Dec. 31., 1930, aged 66 years, 11 months and 1 day. She was united in marriage to John W. BERG on Nov. 19, 1885, at Marietta and came with her husband to Kansas, March 4, 1886, to settle in the vicinity of Meriden, living in this community the remainder of her life. She leaves her husband, John W. Berg; three daughters, Carrie K. Berg, Topeka; Mrs. Anna M. TRIPP, Mountain View, Wyo., and Mrs. Ellen F. BOWEN, Meriden; thirteen grandchildren; two brothers, Chas. A. Becker, Garden City, and William Becker, Marietta, O., and one sister, Mrs. Katherine Berg, Newport, O., to mourn her loss. She was confirmed in the German Lutheran church in her fourteenth year, and transferred her membership along with her husband's eleven years ago to the Meriden U.B. Church. She was a good wife, a kind mother, and faithful to the church, taking her part in its various activities. She was a member of the O.E.S. Meriden Chapter No. 399. She has gone from us but the fragrance of her life lives on. The grave cannot obliterate it. Time will not dime these fragrant memories but rather will add to their lustre. The funeral was held at the United Brethren Church and services conducted by her pastor, Rev. David Wood. Card of Thanks. We wish to express our appreciation for the sympathy and assistance of our neighbors and friends in the sickness and death of our wife and mother: also thank the ministers for their comforting work, the O.E.S. for their services and the many friends and relatives for their beautiful floral offerings. John W. Berg, Carrie Berg, Mr. and Mrs. G.H. Tripp and family and Mr. and Mrs. A. Bowen and family. (Note: typed as printed in newspaper.)
