    3. You guys are the greatest. This is indeed the Martin Walz I am looking for. I have an old obituary for him, but no info on which paper it was from, and either the one I have didn't mention where he is buried or it was cut off. I would certainly appreciate a copy of the obituary you are referencing, Richard. I had found the information from the Annals of Platte County. Thank you very much for going to the trouble to look that up as well. ' I was wondering why they buried Martin in the Reformed Presbyterian churchyard. Looks like the Lindsays were associated with that church, so he isn't alone after all. Funny, but the idea that he might have been laid to rest among strangers bothered me. And the rest of the info you provided is new to me. So, thank you, thank you, thank you. -- JoLynne -----Original Message----- From: ksjeffer-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:ksjeffer-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Richard & Joy Wellman Sent: Tuesday, February 13, 2007 1:21 PM To: ksjeffer@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [KSJEFFER] Introduction Hello JoLynne, There is record of a Martin Walz, b. 30 Mar. 1864, d. 30 Dec. 1913, buried at Reformed Presbyterian Cemetery, Winchester, KS. 3. The Reformed Presbyterian cemetery in Winchester is the only cemetery within walking distance from the town of Winchester. Many persons are buried there because of proximity to the town. Several of my ancestors are there and none were members of the Reformed Presbyterian Church. My grandmother buried my grandfather there so she could walk to the grave as she had no automobile. The Wise cemetery is a couple miles SE of Winchester, which is often called the Winchester cemetery. I will copy the newspaper items the next trip I make to the Gen. Soc. Library in Oskaloosa. It will probably be a couple weeks due to the recent snow. Richard --------------------------------- Don't get soaked. Take a quick peak at the forecast with theYahoo! Search weather shortcut.
