The Oskaloosa Times Jefferson County Friday August 25, 1899 Wm. Weishaar Drowned. Nortonville, Kan.--Aug. 21, Yesterday morning, between 11 and 12 o'clock, Wm. WEISHAAR, son of Benjamin Weishaar, was drowned in a large pond on the farm of his uncle, three miles east of Nortonville. Young Weishaar was returning home from church and in company with several other young men, stopped to bathe. All of the young men except Weishaar were good swimmers and struck out into the deep water, and in attempt to follow them, young Weishaar was seized with cramps and sinking was drowned before his companions could reach him.--Capital.
