The McLouth Times Jefferson County Friday September 8, 1950 Mrs. Lillie M. Umholtz. Mrs. Lille M. UMHOLTZ, daughter of William and Sophie CORLETT was born at Leavenworth, Kansas, Decemeber 16, 1861 and departed this life at Kansas City, Mo., August 30, 1950. February 9, 1888 she was married to Daniel U. Umholtz and to this union five children wer born. Her husband preceeded her in death in 1918. One child, Preston, died when two years old. During her life she was active as a school teacher, wife and mother and friend to many throughout this community. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. True E. Umholtz, of Kansas City, Mo; 3 sons, Corlett Umholtz, Kansas City, Whitney Umholtz, of Leavenworth, and Blanchard Umholtz, of McLouth; a step-son, Vamorie Umholtz of Maple Park, Mo.; one grandson and one great-grandson; a brother, W.C. Corlett, and a sister, Mrs. L.P. SANDERS of Tonganoxie. Funeral services were held at the E.U.B. church with Rev. Rafael Sanchez officiating. Rev. Sanchez sang,"One Sweet Solemn Thought: and "Abide With Me," accompanied by Mrs. Blanchard Umholtz. (Typed as printed.)
