The Oskaloosa Times Friday August 25, 1899 Wesley HUDDLESTON had the misfortune to cut his big toe off of the right foot this morning. He and Gene HAMILTON were coasting down the hill in front of the township school house, on a bicycle, when the accident occurred. Fred was riding in the seat and Wesley was bare footed and standing on the step when his toe got caught in the chain on the back wheel an dhis toe was cut completely off, bone and all.
