    1. [KSJEFFER] Judge Dick's Court: June 16, 1899
    2. Jim Laird
    3. The Oskaloosa Times Friday June 16, 1899 Judge Dick's Court. Judge DICK granted Dr. Samuel JOHNSTON's petition for a druggist's permit to sell liquors, on Wednesday. The county attorney appeared before the court and asked for a continuance, after the petitioners had presneted their case, on the ground that his witnesses were not present. The petitioners objected to the delay on the ground that the county attorney had had thirty days notice as provided by law, also that he had already had a continuance of two days and that further delay would be an unnecessary inconvenience to the petitioner. The judge sustained the objection and granted the petition for lack of eveidence to show that it should not be granted.
