Do you have any other information about Ed & Alice's child - for instance, where it was born? Do you know if Alice ever knew, or knew about, Ed's siblings? Do you have photos of Ed and Alice? I would love to hear from you. I have quite a lot of information about Ed's family, and if you like, I will send you an invitation to my tree on Ancestry. You will be able to look at it even if you don't have a subscription to Ancestry. You will need to send me your email address for the invitation. Thanks for posting. Author: RichardWellman44 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kansas.counties.jefferson/623.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: The 1870 census lists Christopher as living with the Dugan family in Grasshopper Falls Township. That is the area presently in Delaware Township and is in northwest portion of Jefferson Co. I find no record of death or burial in Jefferson Co. records. Official death records did not begin until 1911, so deaths prior to that are from tombstone record, cemetery records, obituaries, etc. Some are obviously missed in that situation. I also checked Jefferson Co. probate records and origional land records and land ownership map of 1876. The Kansas census records for 1865 and 1875 do not show either the Poorman nor Dugan surnames. The burial records for Jackson Co. (adjacent to the west) do not list any Poorman surnames either. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. He moved to Oskaloosa in 1860s from Ohio, is listed in 1870s census there with daughter Mary Dugan's family (not sure if correct last name in census). He would have been around 75 in 1870 so I would assume he died in the area since there is no further info on him. Any info would be appreciated.
