Taylor HAM, of Grantville, was a Perry visitor last Sunday. Mrs. M.J. YOUNG returned to her home in Topeka last Friday. Mrs. J.C. GRINTER and daughter, Etta, visited in Kansas City last week. Mrs. J.C. GRINTER and daughter Birdie, were Lawrence visitors Tuesday. Miss Ida KUNKLE visited Monday in Topeka with her sister, Mrs. M.J. YOUNG.
The Oskaloosa Times Jefferson County Friday April 28, 1899 A Water Spout Does Damage. Buck Creek and Williamstown were visited with a terrible water spout last Wednesday evening. Considerable damage was done and some stock lost. Mr. PEATREE lost one steer, Ben WILSON 15 head of hogs, Tom FARREL 15 head of hogs, Chat McCOY, 16 head, Wm. BAYNE, 20 head, Ed. WEBB, 1 cow, John HUTCHINSON 2 calves and some hogs, Walter UNKLE 18 head of hogs. Lightning struck Mont EVANS house and Pete STALLARDS barn, but no serious damage was done. The stock yards at Buck Creek and two hundred feet of the U.P. railroad track was washed away. A hard rain and hail storm visited our city the same evening, but no damage was done.
The Oskaloosa Times Jefferson County Friday April 28, 1899 Leo HILL, east of Perry, died last Sunday morning of pneumonia fever. He had been sick only one week. The remains were interred in the Holdisay cemetery last Monday.

Although the weather was very stormy and disagreeable last Wednesday eveing the 19th, the BROWN--HART wedding was solemnized just the same. Inside all was calm and beautiful. Miss Brown was handsomely attired in cadet blue serge, trimmed in corn colored satin and white chiffon. The groom wore the conventional black. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Estep, of Perry. The young couple went immediately to housekeeping three miles north of here. May success and prosperity attend them through life.

August and Joseph SHONER wer appointed executors of the estate of Augustus SHONER, deceased, on April 25th. Sintha A. PARKER had filed her final statement as guardian of Ray RICHARDS, of Ozawkie. A.E. DICKINSON has been appointed administrator of the estate of W.K. BROWN, deceased, of Meriden. E.W. McLUCAS and Lillie HUNT, both of Meriden, have secured a marriage license. The will of Mary Van Gaasbeek has been admitted to probate and John SILLS is appointed executor. D.A. JENKINS and Minnie BUNDY both of Dunavant, were granted a license to wed on the 24th.

The funeral will be held at 3 o'clock Sunday from the Perry Christian church. Burial in ??? Ridge cemetery. LEWIS--The body of Mrs. Bertha Lewis, who died in Kansas City, Mo., Wednesday, will arrive in Topeka Sunday afternoon. The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon from Stonestreet's chapel. Burial in Topeka cemetery. She is a sister of Mrs. Lizzie MAYHEW, 1822 Western avenue. CHESNEY--E.E. Chesney, formerly a Topeka lawyer, is dead at his home at Rosedale, Kan. Chesney came to Topeka in 1874 and became a member of the law firm of Chesney & Sanders, with an office at 313 Kansas avenue. Later he occupied offices at 333 Kansas avenue and 625 Kansas avenue. He moved to Rosedale in 1903. He is survived by his widow, six children, a brother and a sister. The body will be taken to Bushnell, Iowa for burial.

The Meriden Message Jefferson County Friday April 24, 1931 Former Co. Clerk Dies. Louis TUTT, 80 years old, pioneer resident of Valley Falls and county clerk of Jefferson county during the '90's, died at Kansas City and was buried in Valley Falls cemetery Tuesday of this week. Tutt was formerly a postmaster and druggist of Valley Falls.
