BALL was in the city of Topeka last Tuesday. Capt. SHIRLEY was transacting business in Topeka Saturday. Lade COOK and family are visiting L.T. COOK and wife this week. Emery WILLITS and family were visiting friends in Grantville Sunday. C.H. COOK and wife are attending protracted meeting at Rock Creek. James COLLEY of Perry, was tranacting business upon Prairie Creek last week. Meade JOHNSON was transacting business and visiting relatives in Topeka last week.

    3. The Oskaloosa Times Friday May 12, 1899 Valley Falls Items. Mable and Fred LEGLER drove over to Oskaloosa Monday to attend the graduating excerises there. Mr. CRAWFORD and wife of Topeka, were in our city Sunday, visiting with Mrs. Crawford's parents, Geo. STEWART and wife and her sister, Mrs. Frank SCOTT. Mr. Crawford has a position on the Topeka Daily Capital, and returned to his duties Monday. Mrs. Crawford will remain for an extended visit.

    3. The Oskaloosa Times Friday May 5, 1899 Probate Court. O.F. BORGAYNE and Bertha A. THOMPSON were granted a marriage license and married by Judge DICK, on May 1st. J.W. ERHART and Ada WILSON have been granted a license to wed. Mrs. W.R. TRACHST was appointed executroix of the estate of Harriet B. HENSLEY, deceased, on Wednesday. A final settlement of the estate of Millie A. FISHER, gave $2,840.14 to be divided between seven heirs.

    3. The Oskaloosa Times Friday May 5, 1899 Ozawkie. Mr. DAVIS, the new miller, is making some fine flour this week. G.G. DICK passed through town Tuesday, with a nice herd of Hereford cattle that he had just purchased. Chas. LOW lost a good horse last Thursday. He had been plowing in the field and had just unhitched and started home, to escape the rain, when the horse fell dead without warning of being sick. John STEFFEY lost a good work horse Thursday. His son was harrowing in the field, when the team became frightened, overturning a section of the harrow and one of the horse was thrown onto the harrow in such a manner that eight of the teeth penetrated its sides and it had to be shot.

    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Tuesday June 29, 1920 Deaths and Funerals. SWARTZ--Frank Swartz, 18, 322 Kansas avenue, died yesterday morning in a local hospital. The funeral will be held at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon from Conwell's funeral home, 201 East Eighth avenue. Burial in Topeka cemetery. WARNER--The funeral of Mrs. Martha Warner, who was killed in an automobile accident near Silver Lake Sunday morning, will be held at 10 o'clock this morning from the Grantville Methodist church. Burial in Grantville cemetery. DAVIS--The funeral of Fred C. Davis, 24, who died Sunday will be held at 12:30 o'clock Wednesday from his home, 2518 Clay street. The body will be taken to Burlingame, Kan., for burial. HORNING--W.A. HORNING, of 901 North Monroe street, died yesterday morning in a local hospital. Arrangements for the funeral have not been completed. KEIL--The funeral of George H. Keil Jr., 10-months-old son of Mr. and Mrs. George H. Keil, who died Sunday, was held at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon from the home of his parents, 422 Wilson avenue. Burial in Topeka cemetery. JORGENSEN--The funeral of Neal Louis Jorgensen, who was drowned in the Ripley park swimming pool Sunday afternoon, was held at 7 o'clock last night form the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. M.P. Jorgensen, 168 Ohio avenue. The body will be taken to Barnes, Kan., this morning. GIRFFIN--Lee Griffin, 40, died yesterday at his home, 117 West Fifth street. Funeral announcements later.

    3. The Oskaloosa Times Friday May 5, 1899 Grantville Items. Susie COX and Daisy OTTINGER spent a few days in Topeka this week. Miss Sarah CLARK went to Kansas CIty Saturday to see her niece, Mrs. KOPP, who is ill. Mrs. Anna GIVENS and sister Miss Lizzie SHIRLEY, visited relatives near this place, attended the entertainment given by the young people of the church. Chas. COX met with a bad accidence last week whle fixing the pump. The handle flew up strikinghim in the mouth breaking one tooth, and bruising his lips considerably.
