    3. The McLouth Times Friday December 16, 1949 Mrs. Elsie WILLETSS visited at the home of her son, Mr. and Mrs. Henry WILLETS in Butler, Missouri the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Harlan WILLETS and Mrs. W.N. SCHWINN spent Sunday December 11, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert DOHRN and family in honor of Albert Dohrn's birthday. Mrs. L.E. THOMAS of Ft. Scott, Kansas met her daughter, Mrs. Snook and children in Kansas CIty Tuesday and returned home with Mrs. Snook and spent the evening and then returned to her home in Ft. Scott on Wednesday.

    3. The McLouth Times Friday December 16, 1949 Mrs. Dorothea CAUFIELD returned Tuesday from Leavenworth where she had been visiting Mrs. Gertrude SMITH for a few days. Mrs. Joe BROWN is on the sick list. Mr. and Mrs. Edward MARTIN of Baldwin, Kansas, and Mr. and Mrs. Glen GARNER and daughter were Sunday dinner guests of Mrs. Elsie Garner and Mrs. Emily Martin. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Garner of Leavenworth called on Mrs. Garner and Mrs. Martin Sunday afternoon. Mr. Jim GRAHAM has been quite ill at his home, but is better at the time of this writing. Mrs. Kelly WELCH and infant daughter returned home from the St. John's Hospital Tuesday about noon. (Note: The birth announcement posted said the baby was born at Cushing Hospital in Leavenworth.) Miss Lois SHELDON of Topeka spent the week end with her mother, Mrs. Joanna SHELDON. Mrs. Charles EDMONDS and infant son, George Kent, came home from the Lawrence Memorial Hospital Wednesday.

    3. The McLouth Times Friday December 2, 1949 Celebrates 90th Birthday. Sunday afternoon the children of Mr. L.L. DAVISON came to help Mr. Davison celebrate his 90th birthday. Mr. Davison had two big birthday cakes with all the decorations on them. Mr. Davison received many nice and useful gifts as well as some beautiful flowers. Ice cream, cake and coffee were served to the following: Mr. and Mrs. V.G. LINDEMAN of Kansas City, Mr. and Mrs. I.L. DAVISON of Nortonville, Kansas, Mr. and Mrs. Harold ENOCHS and daughter, Shirley Ann of Topeka, Mr. and Mrs. Harold L. Enochs Jr., of Frankford, Kansas.     3. The McLouth Times Friday December 2, 1949 Mrs. Mable EDMONDS of Topeka spent Thursday evening visiting with the John EARL and Henry EARL families. Mr. Ray FISHER was accidentally shot by his son-in-law. Mr. Fisher was brought to Dr. SNOOK and given emergency treatment and taken by ambulance to the St. Mary's hospitall in Kansas City. Mr. Richard MILLER, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry MILLER, flew an airplane to El Centro, New Mexico, and took his brother Duane as far as Amarillo, Texas and arrived home Monday morning to spend the day with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence NORRIS and Wayne of Leavenworth spent Thanksgiving with Mrs. Norris' mother, Mrs. Henrietta JOHNSON. Mr. and Mrs. Harry LAIRD of Cottage Grove, Ore., and Mr. and Mrs. Harry LAIRD, Nortonville, Kansas spent Tuesday with Mrs. Rosetta MORROW.

    3. The McLouth Times Jefferson County Friday November 18, 1949 Mrs. W.H. KENYON died Wednesday November 16th at her home in Topeka. Mrs. Kenyon is survived by her husband, Mr. W.H. Kenyon, one daughter, Hazel Kenyon,a nd one son, Earl Kenyon, all of the home. The burial will be in McLouth cemetery later in the week. Mr. and Mrs. Kenyon used to operate a Dry Goods and Grocery Store in McLouth a number of years ago.

    3. The McLouth Times Jefferson County Friday November 11, 1949 Orlin T. Brooks. Services for Orlin T. BROOKS, retired county farmer who died Sunday, October 30, were held Wednesday, November 2, at the Sexton Funeral Chapel in Leavenworth. Rev. Henry Last, pastor of the Chruch of the open door conducted the service. Burial was in the Bethel cemetery near Springdale.

The Happy Hour Club met Friday afternoon, Oct. 21st at the home of Myra Gladys WELLMAN with 9 of the 18 members present and one guest, Mrs. Bess SHARKEY. The meeting was called to order by the vice president, Myra Gladys Wellman. The clubs annual election was held and the following officers elected. President, Viola EDMONDS, vice president, Stella ROBINSON, secretary, Arlene GARNER, Treasurer, Wilma TATE. Edith LOBB received a gift from her pal. During the social hour, which followed the business meeting, two contests were held with Maudie GREER and Wilma TATE winning. The hostess, assisted by Bess SHARKEY, served refreshments consisting of light and dark sandwiches, waldorf salad, doughnuts, coffee and mints.
