    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: gdhobgen1 Surnames: Brown, Bozarth, McPherron Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kansas.counties.jefferson/21.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: You are correct. The obit has another fact wrong, as I found him and Lucinda in the 1900 census living in Kirksville, MO, he born Apr. 1861, she alive as of June 1900, born Jan. 1855, Ida Belle b. March 1877, Stella b. Oct. 1882. Census says they had 3 children, and that 3 were living as of June 1900, but only two are shown living with Archibald and Lucinda. This obituary was originally entered into my data base in 1994, before I was experienced with the census, and ways in which to record citations, etc., so while I have his death date as September 25, 1913, I do not know how that date was derived. I also have his burial date as September 27, and both dates could have come from either the burial records of the McLouth cemetery, which are available through the Jefferson County Genealogical Society, or the dates could have been derived from the fact that the McLouth newspaper was only published on Thursdays, and the obit was written in the past tense. May I ask the source for the marriage date for Archibald and Lucinda? Would like to pursue this line with you, and am willing to share whatever I have. gdhobgen@aol.com Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 1. [KSJEFFER] Archibald Brown (1861-1913)
    2. I found Archibald Brown listed in the Jefferson County Gen Soc's tombstone inscription book: Brown, Archibald, 8 Apr 1861? [sic]- 25 Sep 1913, s/Archibald & Catherine Brown, h/Lucinda Bozarth, h/Asenath McPherson [sic]. MCLH. Brown, Asenith C (Brown) (McPherron) [sic], 17 Jul 1857 - 7 June 1927, d/John & ELizabeth Brown, w/W.D. McPherron, w/Archie Brown. MCLH. There are pages and pages of Browns in the tombstone book and the marriage book. I didn't find an Archibald or Archie Brown in the marriage book. I do find it interesting that the tombstone book indicates they were not sure of the birth year, since they noted a question mark by it. And I find it interesting that the 2d wife is McPherson one place and McPherron in others. Happy hunting. JT ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.

Brown today. I am pleased to be able to add it to my records for Lucinda Bozarth. I believe that the birth date of 08 Apr 1861 is off by ten years. My records show that he was born in 1851 and died in 1913, however I only had the years for him and not the days and months. If Archibald had been born in 1861, he would have been only 12 years old when he married Lucinda Bozarth on 02 Jul 1873 in Afton, Union County, Iowa. I believe that my 1851 date is correct and that the date of birth should have been given as 08 Apr 1851. Can you tell me if the date of 03 Oct 1913 was the actual date of his death or was it the date that his obituary was putlished? If you have further data on Archibald and Lucinda's daughters, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you about them.
