    3. The Mayetta Herald Jackson County Thursday December 10, 1914 Died December 4, 1914, at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. M.L. AKERS, James Evart Akers, who was bonr March 30, 1891, having attained the age of 23 years, 8 months, and 4 days. He had been in poor health for more than four months, being a patient and brave sufferer, thereby putting up a good fight for life. Having such a bright future before him, we cannot understand why one so young should be taken from us, but we must resign ourselves, as did our Saviour, when He said, "Nevertheless, not what I will but what thou wilt." To thoroughly appreciate his sterling worth, one must be intimately acquainted with him, for he had many noble traits of character. The funeral services were held at the Christian Church in Mayetta, being conducted by Bro. Duncan MacFarlane, of Holton. The Dynamo quartette consisting of Chas. Bruner, E.D. Woodburn, Floyd Townsley and Duncan MacFarlane, had charge of the music. The pallbearers were his most intimate friends, Noah Herde, Russel Gooderl, Frank Richards, Clarence Stadel, Clay Murray and Fred Richards. Interment in the Mayetta cemetery. J.M. Goheen was the funeral director. Card of Thanks. We wish to thank our many friends and neighbors who so kindly assisted us during the sickness and death of our beloved son and brother. We also wish to extend our thanks for the beautiful floral offerings. Mr. and Mrs. M.L. Akers, Mrs. Melvina Kessinger,Mrs. Harriet Richards, Mrs. Myrtle Gilbert, Mrs. Mae Gooderl.
