The Mayetta Herald Jackson County Thursday May 20, 1915 Rosa Bell RIPPETOE, was born in Dekalb, Co., Mo., Jan. 12, 1876, and died at her home in Hoyt, Kan., May 12, 1915, age 39 years, 4 months. She moved with her parents to Jackson county, Kan., January, 1878. She united with the church at the age of eleven years. She married Edwin C. LYON, March 31, 1897. To this union were born two sons, William and James. Her husband and sons, age 17 and 14, survive here and were at her bedside in her last months. She was a kind loving wife, mother and neighbor, always looking to be the best friends of all around her. The funeral services were held at the M.E. church at Hoyt, of which she had been a very faithful worker. The services were conducted by Rev. N.N. Smelser. She was laid to rest in the Hoyt cemetery, May 14, 1915. She will long be remembered by her many neighbors and friends.
