The Hoyt Sentinel Jackson County Saturday Friday December 18, 1903 Burned to Death by Gasoline. Mrs. Judge Z.T. HAZEN, was burned to death at her home in Topeka last Friday afternoon. She was cleaning some clothing in gasolene and her becoming cold she stopped to warm them. The gasolene with which her hands were saturated and her clothing sprinkled took fire and she was burned so badly that she died in a few hours. Her son received some bad burns while attempting to save his mother. The Judge received the sad news at the Court House, where he was holding court.
