The Mayetta Herald Jackson County Thursday June 22, 1916 A Surprise Party. A surprise party was held Saturday evening, June 17, at the home of J.W. Laird in honor of Mr. Laird's 51st birthday. Mr. Laird received many beautiful presents. An enjoyable evening was spent. Refreshments of ice cream and cake were served. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. L. M. AKERS and grandson, Mr. and Mrs. Jas. MORRIS and son, Mr. and Mrs. Ed SLATTERY and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ern HANSBEARY and family, Mr. and Mrs. HITCHCOCK, Mr. and Mrs. Scott GOODREL and son, Mr. and Mrs. George PATTERSON and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ray GOODREL, Mrs. L.H. DAVIDSON, Mrs. T.J. FRASIER and daughter, Marie and sons, Harry and Alvin, Miss Florence HERDE and Elmer Herde, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred McFARLAND and son. They departed for thier homes at a late hour wishing Mr. Laird many more happy birthdays.
